STEVE SMART KISS 100 "FLOORFILLERS" STYLES: HOUSE, PROG
HOUSE/TRANCE, BREAKS, ELECTRO
Steve
Smart is one of the fastest growing names in dance music and
radio, presenting the big Start to the Kiss Weekend with Friday
Night Kiss 7-10pm, Saturday night Floorfillers Show. 8-10pm,
and back for some classic action with Kisstory Sunday nights
7-9pm
Steve's
reputation has led to his show being host to the cream of Dance
Music's heavy hitters including Sasha (who really doesnt do much
radio at all, but supports Steve's show) Mark Knight, Tom Neville,
Darren Emerson, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela and Carl Cox to
name just a few.
The
tunes that Steve plays are also a reflection of his ability to
foresee future dancefloor hits. Past artists that Steve has exclusively
aired on radio include first plays from the Freemasons, David
Guetta, Shapeshifters, Seamus Haji, Hoxton Whores which have
all gone on to be big hitters. Well the list really does go on...
and on. Steve's unique approach to radio and DJ'ing is refreshing
to say the least: "I play according to the dance floor,
that is my most
important aim.
Too many DJ's stick to one style, one formula and then when that
formula doesnt work they struggle to re-invent themselves...I
maintain my sound which can be melodic at times"
The
style of music, which Steve incorporates into his sets embraces
funky house, and Electro induced house stepping upto progressive.
His knowledge of music expands further and even enables his DJing
to incorporate wider genres at times. His ability to easily adapt
is one of his greatest forte's. Steve has graced the decks on
tour with KISS at many of the UKs and Europes best known venues,
including the Ibiza sperclub circuit
Production
is important for Steve too having produced under various pseudonyms
with various people, One in particular along with production
partner Nick Woolfson notched up serious success with their single
'Shelter Me' feat Ely released on Big Star Records in 2005. Not
to mention the massive Cerrone sampling 'Sunrise' which was performed
in front of 100,000 people in Paris on the Live 8 stage in 2006.
Meanwhile,
regular visits to the studio means a new production is never
far away. New Productions and remixes came about in 2007 working
alongside Danny Dove whom of which he has set up Naked Flame
records with. 2008 already sees The release of 'Need In Me' featuring
Amanda Wilson (Loaded records) in March, a string of remixes
and something very special featuring 'DJ, vocalist and alround
good girl' Abigail Bailey can be expected early summer on a label
you may just know! Also check Steve's new record label
website www.nakedflamerecords.com
With Steve's huge radio
profile expect the very hottest promo cuts on the decks months
before their release.Get Smart!

"The
best guest DJ we've ever had"
Well
what can we say about this man that hasn't already been said
a million times before other than we are very proud to have a
true dance music legend aboard. Nicky, along with Paul Oakenfold
and Pete Tong was one of the founding fathers of the UK dance
scene, and exporter of the new Ibiza sound to an unsuspecting
and mainly grateful world. 15 years on and most of what we know
as the dance scene today has been built on the foundations of
the vision, perspiration and liberty-taking of these few. Rumour
has it they had quite a good time in the process too!
With
roots in the mid 80's soul and warehouse scene Nicky's incredible
DJ journey from the DOO AT THE ZOO'S and SPECIAL BRANCH parties
to the championing of the Balearic sound and Ibiza scene through
to the opening of his legendary parties and clubs THE MILK BAR,
TRIP, SIN, MARS, VELVET UNDERGROUND in London and Ibiza and involvement
in all manner of apects of the scene and industry over the years
have been well documented in the many books on the history of
house...
These days Nicky
Holloway may be wiser, more reflective and more vertical than
back in the heady days of Ibiza superclubbing and UK Acid House,
but the hunger for playing great dance music is still there,
along with the performance talent that has headlined thousands
of events over the years and that amazing record collection stretching
across 25 years of dance music. This is the man that turned EuroDisney
into rave central in 1993, toured Spain, Australia, New Zealand,
France, Holland, Belgium, Ireland, America, Argentina, Russia,
Egypt, Greece, The Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, China,
Dubai, Bahrain, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Portugal, Turkey, Malaysia,
Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brazil, Denmark, Czech Republic,
Switzerland, Italy, Scotland & Kosovo while most of us were
still trying to find a party somewhere off the M25!

Nickys'
early production credits include Beats Workin - Everyway But
Loose, Titty Twister - Pussy Blowout, Holloway & Co.- Voyager,
Holloway & Co.- I'll Do Anything To Make You Mine (Incredible),

(White Label), Beats Workin - Don't Keep Me Waiting (White Label),
Velvet Underpants - Where Is My Man (SL2), Beats Workin - Burn
Out Don't Fade Away (FFRR), Beats Workin - Sure Beats Workin
(FFRR). Nicky freely admits his increasing passion for his writing,
producing and remixing, with several projects always on the go
(recent customers include Jon Legend, Carl Cox and Gilles Peterson),
is now taking up valuable DJ time. Nevertheless he still finds
time for a London residency at the immense GUILTY PLEASURES events
at KOKO (Camden Palace), celebrity parties (including recently
for for Jack & Kelly Osborne) and his regulAr international
forays always generate the same buzz and fab welcome from fans
the world over each time he rekindles the legend.
Nicky's latest venture is a brand
new club concept Desert Island Discos - a concept as catchy as
the name, you just can't keep a good man down - or Nicky Holloway
come to that, check out the hilarious Dragons Den spoof!

DJ LUCCI 6-YEARS
MANUMISSION REZ STYLES:DEEP HOUSE,
FUNKY / ELECTRO, TOUGH HOUSE
One of the hottest properties
in IBIZA in recent years, Lucci - 6 years resident at MANUMISSION
@ PRIVILEGE, the worlds biggest club, as well as fave San An
pre party venue BAR M for whom he has also mixed their globally
released club branded albums. Despite years of spinning
at the most hedonistic club nights in the world quietly spoken
Lucci is suprisingly understated and can easily decieve until
the needle slams onto the vinyl and the party starts to rock
- then expect no quarter on the dance floor.
LUCCI has also
guested at just about every major name club night and superclub
venue on the Island bringing his mature blend of . Deep Soulful
House, through Funky House, to House and Tec-House and expect
some classics thrown in for good measure.
A versatile DJ
with a wide musical knowledge, his Ibizan dedication has previously
resulted in him being very difficult to book during the summer
season but good news! - LUCCI is now based in the UK making him
more accessible to a wider audience in the UK and worldwide......
.He is a great favourite in the Middle
East with his last apearances in Dubai there caused a two mile
traffic jam with hundreds of dance fans locked out of full to
capacity superclub MIX where he rang in the 2005 New Year.
LUCCI is also
founder of the successful PLANET LOVE RECORDS label and produces/remixes
under the names of COSMIC LOVE, FEEL GOOD FACTOR, CELESTIAL,
and TRUSTED, and has had productions with GRAMMA FUNK "I
See You Baby Shakin dat Ass" and Ibiza legend Nicky Holloway.
An interesting
first for DJ Lucci occurred in 2005 as he bacame the wotrlds
very first professional name artist to be bookable though eBay
JUDGE JULES: "Already an Ibiza
veteran, which is no surprise since LUCCI has cut his teeth at
arguably the island's most influential dance music bar, Bar M
Manumission."
DANNY TENAGLIA: "When at Manumission,
I really enjoy dancing to DJ LUCCI's sets and doing a bit of
train spotting."
DAWN MANUMISSION declared on BBC RADIO
ONE: "My favorite Manumission moment was DJ LUCCI's sunset
set of the millennium in Ibiza."
LISA UNIQUE FANTAZIA & HOUSONIC REZ STYLES:HOUSE & ELECTRO
Lisa
Unique has had a phenomenal career to date spanning over nearly
a decade, beginning her career as a House DJ, it all started
opening nights for club nights such as Fantazia back in 1997,
at the time not knowing the popularity and impact she would have
on the music scene. Lisa has always had a musical ear from an
early age, her ability to read music coupled with her heightened
sense of timing and beat matching has now meant she is widely
recognised as one of clublands top flight DJs. Lisa's DJing soon
progressed into the UK Garage scene and it was then when her
career really took off, taking her to a host of venues around
the globe playing some breathtaking performances in Russia, Beirut,
Dubia, Shanghai, India and America, not forgetting a huge presence
in the UK and Europe. Lisa Unique has definitely stamped her
mark on the music industry and cemented her position as one of
the leading djs in the UK.
Lisa
Unique was never going to be just a DJ, in the initial stages
of her career she soon advanced into producing her own tracks
and remixes. Lisa also went on to form the first ever all-girl
garage group - LONDON'S MOST WANTED....
Her
natural talent, guts and determination brought her many successes
over the years, starting with the boundary-breaking house driven
garage track "UNIQUE", put out on Sony's INCredible
label.
This track gained much recognition
from the likes of Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul and Jeremy Healey.
The track "UNIQUE" was hugely received by garage and
house fans across the UK, USA and Japan. Lisa Unique also gained
massive acclaim for her remix of Aaliyah's "Try Again",
this was one of Virgin's top remixes for several weeks and gained
five star ratings in many music publications ( Update, Mixmag,
DJ and Muzik ). Lisa Unique also released several bootlegs and
other tracks with a host of top name artists which gained large
recognition in the music industry.

Lisa Unique continues to stay
at the forefront of the music scene, over the last couple of
years Lisa has gone back to her musical roots and developed her
own style of House performance, which has caused quite a stir
in the industry. After completing an extensive national tour
with NIKE to promote their Women's campaign in 2004, this gave
her the platform to re-launch herself, since then its been business
as usual playing for a host of clubs and promoters up and down
the UK and around the globe.
As always Lisa's diary is crammed full of domestic and internationl
pleasures - from monthly residencies at the Corn Exchange in
Cambourne Cornwall one mibute to jetting around the globe, next
stop Hong Kong, Shanghai, etc to being back in the studio making
new tracks with an undiscovered talent - Si Tech ( watch this

Lisa Unique is also collaborating
with Public Demand on several projects including a remix with
the Artful Dodger and is also be working closely with the promoters
Fantazia on numerous events. For the second year running Lisa
and her Urban Deck Divas tour headlined the Professional Footballers
Awards after party at Paper in Londons Regent Street for Ian
Wrights' Wright Wright Wright promotions. Lisa could not be happier
at the moment after years of hard work she has gained the respect
and popularity she deserves, Lisa Unique is undoubtably going
to be a face of the future.

DEVINE JUDGEMENT
SUNDAYS RES STYLES:HOUSE , TRANCE , FUNKY ELECTRO AND HARDER
Vicky Devine is ne of
the most talented female DJ/Producers within the current UK dance
scenE having been involved in music in some capacity throughout
most of her life. Reaching Grade 6 in Piano, playing classical
guitar and being a member of a singing group throughout her school
life, she was enticed into the dance music world at the age of
18 and has worked within the industry ever since!!!
Beginning as a club reviewer
and interviewer for Dream and Eternity magazines she then went
on to dance on stage and work in various promotional roles for
a number of UK based events. There was always a DJ inside though
and she was soon behind the decks spending hours after college
learning how to mix. This coupled with her passion for music,
endless enthusiasm and perseverance has helped build her career
and made her one of the most promising female DJ's and producers
in the current dance music scene.
As a result Vicky has
gone on to wow fans in the UK, and indeed around the world with
a reputation built on her...
...uplifting yet driving trance sets
- although versatile Vicky is just as recognised for her funky,
house and electro sets as well.Playing at numerous nights in
the UK including Gatecrasher, The Gallery (Turnmills), Pams House
(Norwich), Slinky (Westfest Festival), Escape (Swansea), Passion
(Coalville), Tranzaction and on a worldwide level including on
the SLINKY Asia tour in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, the SMIRNOFF
EXPERIENCE tour in India and at clubs in Canada, South America,
Dubai, Australia and New Zealand to name but a few. Vicky is
also a regular guest at many top nights in Ibiza including her
weekly main room residency at the massive JUDGEMENT SUNDAYS at
Eden where she plays alonsgide the likes of Judge Jules, Eddie
Halliwell, Lisa Lashes, Christopher Laurence, Matt Hardwick and
Ferry Corston (2005, 2006, 2007), - not to mention a weekly residency
at Majorca's superclub BCM for her own night - "Angels of
Funk" (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007). She is also one of the resident
DJ's at the most successful all female DJ event to date - "Charlys
Angelz". This has completed six successful years out in
Ibiza at which Vicky has played each and every one! The brand
has also hosted nights at numerous clubs as part of the Charlys
Angelz UK and Worldwide tour, in addition to the brand hosting
rooms at other collaborating events such as the Big Reunion in
Skegness. Charlys Angelz remains an integral part of Vicky's
career and will be back in Ibiza for summer 2007 alongside a
new UK tour.
On the production front
Vicky has also seen success. She had early productions as part
of numerous collaborations which allowed her to subsequently
move on to work on solo productions and develop her own sound.
Her first release written back in 2001 (as part of trance duo
Sweet Asylum and also called "Sweet Asylum"), was released
through Infectious Distribution, and was licensed to Pendragons
"Power Trance and Nu NRG" album mixed by Mark Sinclair.
Her second track entitled "Angelz", also produced under
the Sweet Asylum guise was signed by UK based record label Solar.
Her third track entitled "Fearing Nothing", co-written
with Sophie Sugar, was released at the beginning of 2003 on Dutch
label "F-Active Music" where the track was produced.
It is during the past year however that Vicky has come into her
own as a solo artist. Her first solo production - "Entravanse"
- was signed to Drizzly at the end of 2005 and released in March
2006 on their Illuminate sublabel along with a remix from Passion's
resident DJ Andy Bagguley. The track was licenced to four compilation
albums, received excellent reviews in IDJ, Mixmag and M8 magazines
and has also received support from some of trance's top music
jocks including Dave Pearce (plays on his Radio One Dance Anthems
Show), Paul Kershaw (plays on Galaxy FM and voted 2nd in the
Sol Selection), Adam White and Gav Mytchell (MOS Radio), Guy
Ornadel and DJ Choose. Her second track entitled "Echoed
Kisses" was also released on Drizzly's Illuminate Records
with a fantastic Paul Kershaw Remix, and achieved similar success
with plays on Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems, MOS radio, Galaxy
and Vibe FM to name but a few. Echoed Kisses was also recommended
tune of the month in IDJ and had fantastic reviews in Mixmag.
Vicky has been back working hard in the studio throughout the
winter, and her next two tracks (Silver Whispers and Eternal
Dream) will be doing the rounds very soon as well as her very
own remix of Solstice's "Edge of the Ocean".
Radio is also a massive
part of Vicky's career having provided Ibiza reports and interviews
for Paul Kershaw's Saturday night Galaxy FM show (2006), Steve
Smart's Saturday night Kiss 100 FM Floorfillers Show (2004),
Bournemouth's Fire 107.6FM (2002-2004), and having also hosted
her own show on Ibiza's main dance music station Holiday FM (2005).
In addition Vicky has been involved in television work with Balearic
Babes (Rapture TV 2002) and also with an Australian production
which included Vicky interviewing DJ Tiesto at Ibiza's Cream
Closing party (2005). She also recently had guest mixes and interviews
on Eddie Halliwell's BBC Radio One Show (Feb 2007), on Judge
Jules's Global Warm Up show (Dec 2006) and on Fergie's BBC Radio
One Show for his "DJ By The Sea" Feature (2005).
So at the beginning of
2007, the roller coaster ride seems set to continue for Ms Devine.
With further gigs throughout the UK, Europe and beyond already
lined up, and exciting studio collaborations in the pipeline
for yet more tracks - it seems there really is no stopping this
girl. The past year has indeed been Vicky's biggest year to date,
but sets the stall for an even bigger future.

JOYCE
MERCEDES #1
FEMALE PROG DJ STYLES:PROGRESSIVE
HOUSE AND TRANCE
Joyce
Mercedes star has been rising fast the last few years.
After successful performances at Dance Valley & Impulz festivals
her musical career has lifted in the Netherlands evolving into
a DJ of great stature with a busy agenda speaks for itself, regularly
visiting several continents in one month and each weekend traveling
from her hometown of Amsterdam to the cornes of the globe, racking
up more than 20 different countries just in the first 6 months
of 2005. Joyce is exceptionally talented and is considered
possibly the best female progressive house DJ in the world -
we can't argue with that, her mixing and selection is some of
the very finest in the style we have heard here at Sparkle and
she has righly shared centre stage with the big guns; Sasha,
Anthony Pappa, James Holden, Paul van Dyk, Chris Fortier &
Derrick May.
Her flawless choice of records
shows a nose for a quality tune and her exceptional mix technique
takes the dance floor from easy and accessible vocal harmonies
through deep and funky foot food to deep, trippy and hypnotic
beats, soaring to stunning prog trance monsters - a spectacular
set that evidences a diverse musical vocabulary....
From her birthplace
in Nijmegen Joyce began work as a dancer for leading organizations
Pantera and Extension, later moving to Amsterdam and performing
with her dance colleagueon the Strycker & Holmes World Tour
a sparkling dance show in some of the most famous clubs in the
World. Her passion for music lies in her dancing as well as her
singing. In the not to distant past Joyce was part of Centerfold,
the group that sang in 1998 to a sold out Amsterdam Arena during

Joyce worked regularly as a model, featuring in campaigns for
Heineken, Campari, Gap-Star and Playboy.
Not
being content with success in two fields Joyces passion for music
drove her to invest in truntables and master the art of mixing.
Her first performance before an audience took place in sunny
Miami at a private party and very soon word spread and the bookings
started to roll in, culminating in a DJ residency at the well
known Amsterdam Superclub and a 2-year tour with Ibiza's Space
World Tour to crown it all off. At this moment Joyce has
performed in almost every major club in mainland Europe, North
and South America as well as many in the Far East.
Her
striving for success has naturally led her into the recording
studio to produce her own music, which will finally bear fruit
this year with a 12" erelease imminent, though Joyce admits
that she struggles to fit in production time around her busy
live schedule. If it's anywhere near as good as her
live sets it will be worth the wait!

THE BEATTHIEFS DJ/PRODUCER DUO STYLES:HOUSE FUNKATEERS, MORRILLO/SANCHEZ STYLE
Henry
Hacking's great passion for music has lead to an exciting and
memorable 7 years of DJ'ing on Radio and on the club scene.
His
first break was literally a Tea break - at age 17 starting out
as maker to the 'Q103fm Breakfast show' - after 6 months of tea
making, he was presenter on the show and later the producer and
during the two years working on the show it was the number 1
breakfast show in the area, soundly thrashing BBC R1 amongst
many others and gaining over 240,000 listeners. This paved the
way for an introduction into the Cambridge club scene with residencies
at the largest, most popular club in Cambridge and as long running
resident also helped promote and build the popularity of Pure
in Ely - the coolest venue in East Anglia.
Despite
sets at the gay pride THE PINK PICNIC and a set at ROUGE from
winning the "NEW DJ TALENT OF 2003" competition for...
..Trust The DJ, and a guest slot on VIBE FM "VINYL
DECADANCE" Henry got
itchy feet and headed to Canada to gain some international experience
with the help of ROY THE ROACH playing at popular venues THE
STANDARD NIGHTCLUB, Edmonton (Connected Entertainment). PALACE
NIGHTCLUB, Calgary and the AU BAR, Vancouver returning to the
UK in March 2004 to team up with Tony "Tee" Vegas as
The Beatthiefs.
Since
then things have really taken off a spectacular array of gigs
and residencies gained by determination and hard work at INIQUITY
Brighton, RETOX Covent Garden, London, CLUB M Newmarket, PO NA
NA Cambridge (all residencies) as well as guest slots at SLAMMING
VINYL, THE SANCTUARY Milton Keynes, LOVE 2 LOVE Cambridge, FRANTIC
EUPHORIA ALBUM LAUNCH London, DARWIN COLLEGE MAY BALL Cambridge,
TURNMILLS London, FEZ CLUB Cambridge, PINK! Cambridge Cherry
Hinton Hall, DIGITAL LOVE - St Ives, TICKLED PINK @ CLUB M Newmarket,
THE ULTIMATE DANCE MUSIC EVENT @ CHILFORD HALL Cambridge, FIREFLY
Leeds, THE COPYRIGHT CLUB London, HIGH SOCIETY vs HED KANDI @
THE JUNCTION Cambridge, a Germanic debut at CREME 21 Stuttgart
and a late summer spin at CLUB LOUNGE Pacville Malta.
NYE
2004 saw them headline overseas in Budapest for 'CANDY' the leading
gay promotion in Hungary and 2005 has work with BACARDI tours,
Woodhead Calliva (London's biggest Rich n Famous party organizers)
LASHED, BIG, HIGH SOCIETY, SALAVATION dates in Utah, Boston and
New York, Vancouver, Stuggart and more CANDY parties in Budapest
(due to the success of NYE) plus regular guest mixes on MINISTRY
OF SOUND RADIO, and a feature with Riley and Durant on GALAXY
FM ..phew! Not bad for a Tea Boy and a Tee Boy!
Being
a female DJ in such a male dominated industry, Candice McKenzie
takes great pleasure in proving that the power of the DJ is in
their skill, and not their sex.
Ambitious,
Versatile, Determined and Professional are just a few words used
to describe Candice - .DJing professionally since 1999 and going
under the DJ name of baby C, Candice began playing
out at House Parties for friends before making her club debut
in the Zar Bar in Ladywell, South East London playing Old Skool
Classic House. Her audience was impressed by her passion, knowledge
and enthusiasm towards the Old Skool sounds. It was then that
Candice realised that her love for the art of DJing was a feeling
that was not going to go away and begun pursuing it professionaly.
Candice's
career has gone from strength to strength. She continues to DJ
in the UK, being booked to play in both Nightclubs and for Corporate
Events, but now she is also a permanent figure in Europe, her
amazing talent and right choice of music being her eternal ticket,
taking her to countries such as Croatia, France, Greece, Russia,
Siberia, Slovenia,Tbilisi in Georgia and the Ukraine...
Candice
played her first Stateside gig in Miami at The WMC for Echo Bravo
/ Usual Suspects and is looking forward to making her debut in
Ibiza in June. She will be playing for the successful brand La
Vita, gracing the decks for the first time for the glamorous
CHARLYS ANGELZ IBIZA TOUR and spinning for the
promotions Random and Hustle as well as playing at Orange Corner.
Candice is also a resident DJ
for LOVE HOUSE with Miss Behavin' . When she is
not spinning in the clubs, Candice keeps herself busy by working
in the studio remixing Disco tracks. She has completed a re-edit
of the Strikers classic 'Body Music' and also produced a track
called 'I Can Read Your Mind'.
